Hi,
If you installed without inserting the Product Key and created a clean
installation rather than upgrading the existing MCE system, then the system
won't activate with an upgrade key. For the upgrade key to work, you need to
actually do an upgrade, whether that be from the original MCE install or the
now running HP install (and yes, you can "upgrade" the existing install in
place).
