activation

I reformatted my computer and reinstalled windows using the activation key on
the bottom of my dell notebook. It didnt work. So i called and had the
assistant change my activation key for me and it still didnt work. It would
have been easier to just get a pirated version or just buy a mac. i would
have at least had less problems.

What did you use to reinstall? Was it a Vista version? What version? OEM
or retail? Did Vista originally come preinstalled from the OEM?
