Can't restore from backup

I installed Vista Home Premium over RC2 Vista Ultimate (the latter was about
to expire). I heeded the advice to make a complete backup, this on an
external hard drive. Now that I want to restore Vista tells me the backup is
not to be found, but it won't let me tell it where to find it. How do I
restore my backup files?

How did you make the backup, was it with Complete PC Backup that comes with
Vista Ultimate? That is not available in Vista Home Premium. Sorry I don't
know how you would restore in that case.
