Installing a trial.

I have 2 computers, one with XP and another one with Vista.

I have purchased an upgrade for the XP computer, which I haven't got yet.
Can I install the disk that came with the Vista computer and use it as a
trial until my upgrade comes? At that point can I validate it with the
upgrade serial?

More details needed. What is the version of Vista you do have? OEM or
retail, full or upgrade?
What version are you getting?

What difference does the version make? The OP can have a trial for
up to 120 days without entering a product key.

The issue is how seamless it will be to transition to the other version when
he gets it.
