MS Access 97 on Vista?

I have a lot of software that currently needs Access 97. I bought a Dell
laptop and the only OS option was Vista home basic which installs all the
Office Pro 97 aps except Access. It claims it gets an error in the registry
and it also complains to run the Workgroup Administrator. That program
tells me that the SYSTEM.MDW needs to be defined, but when I follow the
instructions I get "An error has occurred at changing workgroup database."

Anyone have an idea on how to proceed. It'll take me months to convert to a
newer database.

What did you do with Office 97 before you purchased the Laptop? If you
still have that computer, then you can still use Access 97. It might not be
the answer you are looking for but you will still be able to work.
