Synctoy won't run

Brand new install of Vista Business x64, trying to install the software I use
most, including Synctoy 1.4. It installs fine, but won't run -- I get a
dialog box announcing "Synctoy has stopped working." Never seen this before.
Can anybody share some wisdom on this matter?

I'm able to use it on Vista Ultimate 32 but from what I've seen in a Google
search using "synctoy 1.4 and vista 64" without the quotes as my search
criteria, SyncToy seems a bit problematic with Vista 64.

The first result that came up did yield a fix for a somewhat different
issue, you might want to check it out, it might lead to help with your issue
or, possibly, the fix might work for you:
