creation recovery disc

I'm a newbie, so I don't know if I'm in the right place here. I bought an HP PC in early June 2009 with VISTA already loaded. I made recovery discs at that time, and I think there were six DVDs total. Yesterday there was an HP automatic scan, and it said I did not have recovery discs and to create them. I have the instructions, but I can't find the 'create recovery disc' program. Done every thing I know how to do. Does anybody know where it is??? Thanks for your help!!!!
