Supressing security warnings
We are manually organizing our folders for the ALL PROGRAMS item on the
STARTUP menu, but are having a few problems and would appreciate some help
as follows:
FIRST, is there a way to temporarily turn OFF all the security warnings
generated when simply creating new folders or when moving items between
folders? Because these are system folders (C:\Users\[User
Account]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu AND C:\Program
Data\Microsoft\Windows\Startup), we get warning dialogs for every change we
desire to make. It converts a rather short process, under Windows XP, into
a frustrating nightmare. Any suggestions?
SECOND, folders or entries in the C:\Program Data\Microsoft\Windows\Startup
folder (siblings to the "Programs" folder), used to be displayed at the top
of the ALL PROGRAMS menu and were set apart with a separator line from other
entries. Now everything from both the 'Start Menu' folder AND the 'Start
Menu\Programs' folders are bunched into the ALL PROGRAMS menu alphabetically
with no priority given to folders or entries in the 'Start Menu' folder.
This used to be a nifty place to maintain folders associated with Desktop
Taskbars or Dockers so that they would also show at the top of the ALL
PROGRAMS menu listings. Any ideas what is going on here?
Thank you for any help!
