installing updates error message 646

please help!!!!!! Im trying to install updates but keep getting an error
message 646 can any help so i can install

Updates to WHAT? At what stage to you get the error? What does the message
say, verbatim? Is this on Windows Update? Or updates to some program you
have installed?

And, please, ALWAYS mention the Windows version you are using. Just in
Vista there are over a half-dozen variations, from 32-bit Vista Home Basic
to Vista Ultimate x64 - plus who knows how many OEM versions (HP, Dell...).
And don't forget the SP level. To find all this, just hold the Windows logo
key down while you press the Pause/Break key; the System Properties window
should pop up on your screen and tell you what we need you to tell us.

Hi guys finally I found a solution for this error 646 ,just disconnect
the network after downloading while the windows is installing if didn’t
work just restart the computer and don’t connect to the internet ,go
back to the windows update and press install ,because they will be
already downloaded ,and it will work (vista SP2)
