Vista newbie help

Just installed Windows Vista Business Edition SP1

I installed third party antivirus program Kaspersky

My question is how do I uninstall Windows Defender?

Or how to disable it?

Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Defender is not an AV application

You can't uninstall it, it was built into the OS.

Why do you want to disable? Have you also installed a third-party
anti-spyware/adware application (which Kaspersky AV most definitely is not)?

Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services | Scroll down to Windows
Defender right click on Windows Defender, click stop, right click on
Defender again, properties, startup type box and click disable.
