Wanting to install windows 7 or windows vista from a USB flash drive.
Here is the starting point to do so. Some things you will need are as
follows:
1. Usb flash drive.
2. HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool
3. DoS System files
First thing first, be sure to save anything you have on the flash
drive. This will erase everything off of it. Ok, off to the real
work.Unzip the dos system file and put it in a folder on ur desktop, or
straight to your flash drive. Run HP USB disk storage format tool. Be
sure to select FAT32 partition or else it won't recognize anything over
2gig's. Once you have it format'd and named what you want. Make sure to
click the dos system files option before you start. Then tell it where
to find them at. Then you should be good to click the start button. Once
all that is complete, you should have a bootable USB flash drive. Now
the real simple part, copy all files off your dvd or disk and put them
on to your usb flash drive. Now you have a bootable windows 7 or windows
vista install usb flash drive.
P.S. I will edit this with photo's when I get home from work. And this
will also work for WinXP if anybody was wondering that.
