Unkown Directory

After upgrading to Vista I have a directory on my C: drive called $Windows.~Q
and I don't know what it is. It looks like it is a copy of the old Windows XP
installation but I am not sure. The question is can I safely delete this
directory and all of it's contect?

Yes right click it and delete it ,i have did the same thing many times.
You may want to look it over and make sure you have all of your pictuers and
other files you may want to save first.
