Vista corruption and reinstallation

Two weeks ago, my version of vista badly corrupted and wouldn't let me
reinstall.

I had bougth my computer a year ago with home premium OEM edition on it
but didn't get a setup disk from Compaq.

Luckily-or so I thought-I had a setup disk for windows vista home basic
that came with my laptop but when I tried to put the product key in for
home premium, it said it was invalid with home basic. Is there any way I
can get the setup or trial files for vista home premium so I can use my
product key to make it work again.

Please reply ASAP. My 15 day trial of basic has run out and i'm stuck
with windows 98! :sleepy:

You cannot use the disks provided with your other PC, they are locked to
that PC
Compaq would have either supplied you with recovery disks, or a hidden
partition with the means to create the recovery disks from it.
Visit Compaq site for your model and read up on how to restore, or read the
paperwork supplied with that PC
