64 bit Vista with 32 bit update
Bought the computer a month ago, has 64 bit on it, the update that came with
the computer is a 32 bit. Is that right? what is the difference? besides
32 bits. Almost wish I hadn't bought this computer is has been nothing but
problems
Thanks

Re: 64 bit Vista with 32 bit update
Hi,

If it's just an update to a program that came with the system, then it would
most likely be 32-bit. Most software runs in 32-bit mode under Vista x64.

By the by, just because a computer has a 64-bit processor does not mean the
installed OS is 64-bit. In fact, most are installed with the 32-bit version.

Licencing wise, nothing. You can use the 32bit CD key on a 64 bit. It's
just that the DVDs supplied are 32 bit and you have to send off for a
64bit DVD.
