Problem installing home premium 32 bit oem

Just finished putting together my first ever build. A very basic one
just for home and web and to (hopefully) play with vista. This is a new
machine and a clean install (new HD).

All my parts are new and all except ram and graphics board are from e
buyer.

System build
Cooler master Elite 330 Black Case With CM extreme Power 460W PSU
Western Digital WD2500AAKS Caviar SE 250GB 7200RPM SATAII/300 16MB
Cache - OEM
ASUS M2N68 nForce 630a Socket AM2+ 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Socket AM2 2.7GHz Energy Efficient L2 1MB
(2x512KB) Retail Boxed Processor
Optiarc AD-7200S 20X DVD±RW/DL/RAM Internal SATA Bare Black Drive - OEM
Xilence Red Wing 120mm Quiet Fan - 3&4pin connection
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium -SP1- Licence and media - 1 PC -
OEM - DVD - 32-bit - English
CT2KIT12864AA800 2GB kit (1GBx2), 240-pin DIMM Upgrade for a ASUS M2N68
System x2 from crucial
Graphics Xfx geforce8800gs

Brand new system no software/os ever installed previously.

My issue is the installation of the vista OEM pack.

After wasting several hours trying to install this (about 4 times) I am
asking the forum members for any resolution they may be able to give.
This installation is slow but the main issue is that when I reach the
product activation key section I start to have problems.
I have input the key then clicked the next button.
After a wait I get a new box come up asking me to insert windows
installation disc 1. (The OEM came as 1 disc only)
If I click cancel it wants to cancel the whole installation. If I click
ok it will keep coming up until I get this error message.
“Windows cannot open the required file D\scources\install\wim. Make
sure all files required for the installation are available and restart
the installation. Error code 0x8007000D.”

Why would it ask for installation discs for a complete installation
when I only have 1 disc and I am not doing an upgrade.

On the disc it mentions that it includes windows anytime upgrade, don’t
know if this may have any bearing on this.

Hope someone may have some ideas as I would like to set up my new build
and update ASAP.

Regards
Sphinx

Re: Problem installing home premium 32 bit oem

OK do you have a CD disk or a DVD disc, Vista is DVD size & if you have
a single CD you do not have all the files you need, in CD form Windows
Vista 32 bit is 5 CD's
this might be your trouble??

~wolfcaller
ps got that error a few times on a Biostar (NO I did not buy that ...
thing).
did a Bios Flash (after hunting down a floppy drive & 3.5 disk as thats
the only way to flash Biostar's BIOS).
