Downgrade from 64bit to 32bit

Vista Home Premium 64bit came preinstalled with my new computer. I have
several programs that will not work. I need to downgrade to a 32bit. How
do I go about doing this?

First make up a set of recovery disks before reformatting the original
primary in case you need to restore the original later. The first step
is simply backing up any files you want from the drive and then proceed
to perform a fresh install while booted with the 32bit dvd. That will
see all of the 64bit preinstall's files removed and leave a fresh
primary to work with.

As the 64bit came preinstalled, contact the computer manufacturer re a
cheaper way to obtain 32bit version, other then buying Retail..

Hi,

They won't work because they aren't compatible with Vista or because they're
16-bit applications? Downgrading won't help if they aren't compatible as
most applications that run under 32-bit will run under 64-bit unless they
require installing a device driver for which no signed 64-bit one is
available.

As to downgrading, you'll need to check with the manufacturer for a)
availability of the downgrade and b), availability of driver files.
