The same thing happened to me on my Gateway laptop, but I have Optiarc
AD-7563A. I resolved this issue by contacting Gateway live chat support.
They told me the following: open regedit (Registry Editor) and navigate
and to delete values UpperFilter and/or LowerFilter. I then rebooted and
problem solved. The long string of letters and numbers will probably be
different for your Optiarc model. I suggest contacting your computer
manufacturer and trying to get live chat support. Let me know how it
