[Pony Help] Moving a Data Partition between Drives?

My Vista laptop came with a 200GB 7200RPM hard drive that was
partitioned into two partitions: Windows and Data. This is really kind
of a dumb idea but I kept it that way and used the Data partition for
all of my programs. Now I have bought a second hard drive for my laptop
(it can hold two). I've got a 500GB 5400RPM drive and I want to use that
for my Data.

Can I move my data partition over to the second drive, expand it to
fill the whole drive, and have everything work correctly in windows?
(Right now it's drive letter D??

How do I do this?

Use Disk Management to partition and format the 500 GB drive.
Drag and drop data from D: to the 500 GB drive.
Use Disk Management to change the drive letter of D: to an unused
letter.
Use Disk Management to change the drive letter of the 500 GB drive to
D:.

You can move Data, you cannot move Programs, they would all have to be
reinstalled
