Vista Image Problems

We are having problems with imaging our Vista laptops.
Current setup is, small boot partition then large second partition for
Vista C:. This is because we are going to use Bit locker to encrypt the
main drive for security so the boot drive (system drive from MS eyes)
and Vista partition (Boot drive from MS eyes) cannot be the same.
Setup is very similar to systems sent to use by HP or Dell where they
use the first partition as diagnostic drives and the second partition C:
for Vista.
The problem we are having is that when we image the working setup and
put it on another machine, even though the partitions are setup exactly
the same, when Vista starts setting up (syspreped screens) it sees that
it is on the second partition and trys to use D: for its drive letters,
this inturn confusses it and crashes out.
Even renaming the drive letters in diskpart has no difference and still
Vista thinks the second partition should be D:.
There must be a way around this as HP, Dell and others do the exact
same thing but Vista ofcourse uses C: for the second partition.
Please please help.

Re: Vista Image Problems
Whatever partition (1,2,3 etc) Vista will install itself as C regardless of
the BIOS designation of drive letters. The only exception to this is if
Vista is installed from the desktop of another Windows system (XP for
example) in that case it will use the lettering of that system.
What imaging product are you using and how are you imaging? Partition or
drive? If you image the drive, it should be laid down as it is imaged.
