Auomatic selection in a dual boot

Hi,
I have a dual boot machine (Windows XP/Windows PE). The defaut boot in the
BCD is Windows XP. The system boot well on each OS.

The Windows PE is only use for recovery solution. I don't want to see any
menu at startup . I don't want to see "Windows PE" anytime. I always want
that Windows XP start normally. BUT in case of XP "Crash" and doesn't boot
again, i want to have the possibility to start Windows PE for recovery. So,
how to boot in the Windows PE OS if no menu appears to select it. I have try
to put the TIMEOUT value to 0 in the BCD and press "Scroll down" at startup
but it doesn't work.

Any idea?
