Vista x64 Sidebar will not load

vista sidebar suddenly stopped responding. i have enabled and disabled, and
restarted several times. you can see the outline of the sidebar, but no
default gadgets. i've tried suggestions
http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=677251 and they did not work?

check the registry for what the default state of sidebar is suppose to be.

re-installed java from sun and it's working now

Aaron,

Sun is a few years behind regarding their computing technology, likely, you
will encounter additional conflicts using Java, -unless-, you were to use an
older version of Java as jre 1_5_0_10. If you are using jre 6, or later,
troubles and conflicts will likely haunt you…
