Windows Installer problems, please help!

I have problems installing updates. I am using Vista, no service pack
yet. Having diligently studied the problem on line, I got an
impression that the services on my computer should include "Windows
Installer" which is not the case, I only can see "Windows Modules
Installer". No "Windows Installer" among my services. Was this service
renamed in Vista, or am I in deep troubles? Is there a way out?
Please, help!!!

Maybe you could be more clear. What, exactly are your problems installing
updates. Be aware that Microsoft provides free assistance for any problems
associated with installing updates, and IMHO has their best talent in that
area.
