Startup WAV

What is the Windows Vista startup wav called and where is it located?

Hi,

It's embedded in a library file now, unlike older versions that used a
startup.wav. You can enable/disable whether or not it plays in the Sounds
applet in the Control Panel, but you cannot alter it or replace it with a
sound of your own.

It is located in the dynamic link library called imageres.dll in
c:\Windows\sytem32

You can edit this with a program called Resource Hacker
For Info and download links go to 'Resource Hacker'
(http://angusj.com/resourcehacker/)
'' (http://angusj.com/resourcehacker/reshack.zip)
go into the folder WAVE after opening imageres.dll with reshacker and
open 5051 or whatever folder is inside WAVE. either delete it or replace
it with something else.
WARNING: the replacement must be a .wav file and i have never deleted
it before.
