Update problems

Every time I install recommended updates when I restart my computer my
shortcuts are way smaller. Part of the toolbar is missing to the right and
there is a black stripe about 3 inches wide down the left side of my screen.
When i uninstall it is fixed

Is this a video driver update you are downloading?

It's best not to download drivers from Windows Update, unless you are having
a specific problem with that hardware.

You're right on. It said the update was video, something about chipset. I
am not having problems withs video, but thought since it said important that
I would install it. When I uninstall it fixes it.
