Desparate!!! please help BSOD on install

Hello,
I'm hoping that someone can help me here, I've got a brand new machine
that I've just built, and I am having no end of trouble installing.
First off, Machine specs

Asus M2n32-sli deluxe motherboard,
AMD FX-62 Processor
4Gb Corsair RAM
Samsung 200GB SATA Hard Drive
Pioneer DVD RW DL DVD Drive
Nvidia Nforce 590 SLi Chipset
XFX Geforce 8600 256 MB Graphics Card

Here's the issue: I install, everything works great till windows
decides to restart. Then, when it does, I get the BSOD that says:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

I have tried to reinstall windows, repair windows, I have disabled all
onboard options in BIOS, I have only the HD, GPU, and DVD ROM plugged
into motherboard, and nothing has worked. When I try to repair windows
using the install disc, it finds a startup problem, but says it can't
repair it. here's the error code that it gives me in windows repair

Problem event name: Startuprepairv2
Problem signature 01: Externalmedia
Problem signature 02: 6.0.6000.16386.6.0.6000.16386
Problem signature 03: 0
Problem signature 04: 65537
Problem signature 05: unknown
Problem signature 06: failure during setup
Problem signature 07: 0
Problem signature 08: 0
Problem signature 09: unkown
Problem signature 10: 1168
OS version 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

Please Please Please does anyone have any idea what i can do? i am
desperate

thanks

Did you load your chipset/SATA drivers when prompted at the initial part of
installation?

If so, try the installation with just 2 gigs of RAM to see what happens

it never asked to load SATA chipset drivers, i never got that far. I did
read somehwere that windows lacks SATA drivers but I can't even get
windows to load for the first time to install them. am running a mem
test with windows, will pull 2 gigs out and report back

You need to re-run the installation
it happens right at the very beginning.

I don't recall the exact wording
but it *does* ask if there are additional drivers you need to load
(the wording does not specifically say SATA or chipset)

Re: Desparate!!! please help BSOD on install

ok, re running install, had windows check all 4 gigs of ram, all ok,
have removed 2 just to be safe, re-installing now, i did update my BIOS,
which hasn't helped. I also made a change in BIOS to auto configure the
Nvidia GPU or some such, and sometimes the screen simply goes blank when
trying to start windows. I have set it back to disable. now even if i
run the install disc on either setting the windows loading files bar
comes up, it finishes, and the screen goes blank and nothing happens.

Somehow you missed it.
Right at the beginning of the installation you are asked if you need to
install 3rd party
drivers.

Again, I don't recall the exact wording...
but it's right at the start.
I am sure if you try again you won't miss it.

That's when you need to put in your cd with the chipset and SATA drivers
that should have come with your new motherboard.

BTW: The mfg of the mobo may have specific instructions for installing
Vista...
be sure to follow any such specific instructions...
I;ve only given general info here

Re: Desparate!!! please help BSOD on install

yeah, i know i missed it, but now the screen goes blank,i couldn't get
into install or windows, i had to clear CMOS and start all over, and it
seems to be going into install now. Will try SATA/Chipset install and
report back GRR, I've lost almost an hour just trying to do another
re-install. Thanks for all the help. This can't be that hard to figure
out, it'll just take someone with more brains than I currently own, or
at least more experience

Re: Desparate!!! please help BSOD on install
Sounds like you need to adjust your ram voltage. IRQ_not_LESS_or_Equal is
almost always a ram issue
