Easy Transfer - Error

Using Easy Tranfer Cable and software, from XP SP2 machine to new Vista.
Received " There was an error scanning the dayA on your system. Windows Easy Transfer will now be cancelled"
I had followed the instructions exactly as given.
Seems a total waste of £25.
any clues?

Point is?

Tells you how to do it but not how to rectify problems.

There is other options; copy data to memory stick, external drive; burn to CD.
Try that!
Manually redo your settings in vista.
