MissingBootManager

I have a thinkpad with vista installed - preloaded from IBM. Just got BootMGR
is missing press cntrl+alt+delete.... tried going into system repair but it
does not fix the problem:

Problem Event Name: Startup Repair v2
Prob Sig #5: unknown
Prob Sig #6: MissingBootManager
Prob Sig #9:WrpRepair

Any ideas - isnt there a solution like fixmbr for XP?

Sometimes doing a startup repair via booting from the vista DVD has to be
done a couple of times.
Don't ask me why!!!
