dvd decoder removed

The dvd decoder came with my laptop, and now it seems it was removed, if I do
a system restore will it bring it back?

Chances are that the Decoder was part of a DVD Burn/Play/Create program that
had a 30 day free trial...you did not buy it so it stopped working.Suggest
you either purchase program or search the net for a less costly alternative
