Networking with Mac OS-X Tiger
Problem 1:
My Vista PC can access and copy files on my Main [StartUp 50 Gb] Mac Drive
just fine. But I cannot see or access files on the Secondary Drive [460
Gb].

Problem 2:
My Mac [Power G5, OS-X Tiger] cannot see any Vista files at all. It
successfully opens the Vista Drive C and puts an icon on the Mac Desktop.
But no Vista files are visible on the Mac at all.

I have checked permissions and searched the internet all day. The Mac
Geniuses say it is definitely as PC and not a Mac problem and refuse to
discuss it further. The only thing I have learned for sure is that there
are lots of other folks out there having the same problem.

Any help with either problem would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks loads.

My understanding (which may very well be flawed) is that Tiger only let
you share your user directory (Leopard drops that limitation). I would
check on the Apple forums and also look at www.macwindows.com.

If the Mac can't browse the Vista machine, make sure that you've created
identical user accounts and passwords on both machines. If you only have
one user on each computer, you can automatically logon if you like. For
Vista:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

For Tiger, System Preferences>Accounts>Login Options.

Make sure you've created shares on the Vista machine for the Mac to browse.
