RE: what could be the reason for vista hanging
For a start, you are mixing RAM speeds, and sizes.
Pull out the 2 x 512 667 MHz sticks, and lock them in a drawer.
Reinstall Vista using just 2 Gig of 800MHz RAM.
After install add the other 2 of 800MHz.
And leave it at that.
If you still have probs, take out the fancy Graphics card, put in a generic
one until install done; then install the fancy one.
