cannot connect to internet

hello I have just installed windows vista home basic 64 bit edition to
my pc and when i first got to the desktop i had an internet connection.
and the first thing i did was install motherboard drivers or try to
anyway. I had to restart and i got the bsod. then restarted and couldn't
connect to the internet.. it said i was on a limited connect that was
unidentified. it said my pc was sending packets but not receiving them
can anyone out there help me out? and once i get it up and running what
should i do first as in downloading drivers. whats works with vista what
do i need for sli drivers etc.

ok now for some reason i keep getting the bsod from trying to reinstall
windows
