Windows Vista Upgrade issue
I am upgrading from Windows XP (SP2) to Vista Business Edition. During
upgrade process at Expanding files stage I am getting this error “Windows
could not prepare the computer to boot into next phase of installation. To
install Windows, restart the installation”. There is no Hardware issues

Re: Windows Vista Upgrade issue
Hi,

First, if boot time protection is enabled in the system BIOS you will need
to disable it. Secondly, if there is an installed antivirus application in
XP, you need to uninstall it (not just disable, but completely remove it).

RE: Windows Vista Upgrade issue
Hi Nayaka,

If you follow the instructions in my post 'Clean Install Windows Vista Using
Upgrade Media', also in this newsgroup, you should be able to solve your
problem. Remember to make a backup of important documents before you do this
- these can then be restored afterwards.
