2nd Partition Issue

Hi,
I upgraded my laptop (Dell XPSM1210) from WinXP SP2 to Win Vista Business
Edition. Everything went well and I used it for few days but due to some
applications incompatibility I reload the WinXP SP2.
I used the WinXP SP2 CD and format the C partition as NTFS, but I can't
access my 2nd partition D. Msg is saying Access Denied and it shows me as
Local Disk D: before it was Data partition and I had all my data in that
partition.
Interestingly when I go to Computer Management and check my physical drives
from there so it shows my D as Data (Healthy).
Any Help? Anyone got any idea for me; please help me ASAP because all my 5
years data is in that partition and I don’t have any backup at the moment
with me.

What do you jmean you can't access the 2nd partition? Do you mean you can
see the folder/files but get access denied when trying to open a folder? In

What happens in Computer Management (disk management) when you right click
on the D drive and select open or explore.
