Expanding Files hangs at 0%

Hi,
This is my setup,
Core 2 duo CPU
2GB DDR2 RAM
400GB Hard Drive.
Vista Ultimate

Everytime i try to install vista it hangs at 0% on expanding files for about
5 minutes. Then an error message comes up telling me that it cant locate
specific files.
I have tried to install about 10 times now and cant seem to get it right. I
have installed vista plenty of times before and never had any problems.
Also the colours seems to be at 8bit.
any thoughts would be really appreciated

All fixed, turned out to be a faulty SATA cable, a tip for all those who are
scratching their heads like i was
