cant open project preofessional trial version. help?

i have just downloaded a trial version of microsoft project professional. it
is an .img file - i was told to download software to read it, searched as per
instructions and then downloaded 'irfanview' installer. it still wont open.
what should i do?

irfanviewer is for viewing Picture images. What you have is a disk image.
Microsoft has a utility that will let you mount an .img file to a drive
letter or folder and you would run SETUP.EXE from there.

The utility name escapes me at the moment.
