installation vista ultimate 64 bit

hai to everyone,

have a 64 bit processor but when I try to install 64 bit vista, it says it
is not compatible with this processor. Now I am using the 32 bit Vista. Is
there any way I can install the 64 bit?

can any one give suggestion.

if you are doing upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit it will not work. you have to
do clean install of 64 bit.

How are you trying to do this. from the x86 desktop or by booting the x64
DVD?
