Intel 536 EP modem

Worked flawlessly in RC2; works - but blue screens at shutdown in RTM.

"Solutions" says it's an Intel modem driver problem...
"Go to Windows Update, choose hardware|modems."

There is no such category, and no Intel modem update is in the list.
Under HAVE DISK|modems, no Intel modems are shown.

Windows Update Catalog is not available.

UPDATE DRIVER|Search the Net finds nothing.
The Intel site lists no drivers for Vista.
Google lists no Intel Vista drivers.

Anyone found the solution?

If I were you,I would uninstall the modem in device mgr,reboot,windows
should ffind "new hardware" and install drivers for the modem.

I just checked the "windows update" history,the drivers for the Intel modem
were downloade from "windows update" on Dec3,2006.
So,disregard my last post.

Windows Update didn't list modems when tested last night, and
auto-detect, searching the Net, found nothing. Latest driver to be
found on any site was 4.77.8.0.

THIS morning, however, the Net search located 4.77.8.3, which does the
job. Server must have been down earlier...

Thanks. Out of curiosity, at what URL did you find the 12/3/06 Intel
driver on the Windows Update site?

Beats me,just went to the update site ,glad "it" was there<g>.
