ImageX: can it convert a RIS or RIPrep Image to .WIM?
In the Windows Deployment Services Update Step-By-Step Guide for Windows
Server 2003, it says:

"The switch to Native Mode occurs whenlegacy image types are converted to
WIM format and the OSChooser functionality is disabled (by using the
/forceNative command.)"

Does that imply that ImageX will swoop down and convert my legacy images?

Can I use Image X to convert anyway, apart from the /forceNative command?

Re: ImageX: can it convert a RIS or RIPrep Image to .WIM?

I've used ImageX to convert a RIS image to a WIM file using the compress
fast method.

imagex /compress fast /capture c: 1 c:\winxp.wim "T61 Image with AHCI"

Always capture to the C directory first, otherwise you will have boot
partition issues. Once your image has been captured to C: you can copy
or move that file to your network share.
