How to install 64bit

I bought windows vista ultimate and did a clean install and i'm running it
now but it says that i'm only running in 32bit

There are 2 DVDs in the Ultimate retail boxes. One is the 32 bit, the other
is the 64 bit. Did you perhaps use the wrong DVD?
