Outlook - AutoArchive Delete

For years, I've been trying unsuccessfully to get Outlook to automatically
delete messages over a certain age in particular folders. I've right clicked
on the selected folders, chosen Properties, gone to the AutoArchive tab, and
clicked the appropriate buttons, but it never does the deletions. Maybe it's
a problem w/ Outlook 2003 that's be fixed in 2007, but I have my doubts.
Advice?
