not uncommon for extra devices to cause problems during install.
try disabling in the bios the cd/dvd not used for install.
while there also disable any not needed usb, serial and parallel ports.
also turn off any over clocking.

I am running the following rig and I want to install vista on it, I have got
the disc and whenever I try to install any version of vista I get the copying
files percentage bar then the restart then a dimmed percentage bar and
microsoft wording and the system hangs. Can anyone clarify why this is?
