Vista Build Number
Hello,

Is there any other way, except installing it, to find wich build of Vista is
on the installation DVD?

Re: Vista Build Number
If you mean the build number, they're all 6000 (excluding beta's) I believe.
If you mean the version (home premium, ultimate) they're all on there, which
one you get depends on the key you use.

Re: Vista Build Number
I know that they are all on single DVD ( Home, Premium, Ultimate) and that
final build is 6000; I have some DVDs containing some Beta versions, but I
didn't label all of them, and I don't know wich one is wich. So, I want to
find it out, without installing it. Is there build information anywhere among
the files on the installation DVD?

Re: Vista Build Number
The build number can only be found when you install Vista.
There is no point in keeping your collection of old beta
versions of Vista as they are all obsolete.

Re: Vista Build Number
Hi,

In root folder of Vista right click the Setup.exe file and select
Properties.
Click Version and check the Build Version.

It show as 6.0.5308, 5365, 5774 so on.

With Regards,

If you look at the Properties of the setup.exe file on the DVD you
will see a File version property.
The final build is version 6.0.6000.xxxxxx
This file usually gets incremented for each build (not always but
usually)
Also look at the File Version in the Other Information box it clearly
says RTM on a final build
