Upgrade on Windows XP fails
Hi,

I tried to upgrade from Windows XP Professional (SP2 installed) to Vista
Business, but my PC crashed after the last boot (Completing upgrade...).
The error message is: LIRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
I removed everything in my PC which I could remove (exept HDD, graphics
card, and memory - only 1Gb installed).
When doing a clean install, Vista works without a problem.. but I only have
an upgrade key :-(

Can somebody help?

Thanks!

You CAN do a clean install.

I've not done this yet. Pleae share your experiences with it.

Re: Upgrade on Windows XP fails
Do the "custom install" instead, which will be a clean install.

RE: Upgrade on Windows XP fails
I get the same message I think from the little you gave of it..

I thought of going into safe mode but I always get
http://img443.imageshack.us/my.php?i...1833366ri8.jpg
Is there an easy way around all of this? If not..how do I get to a place
where I can do the clean install, I seem to be locked out as it just keeps
shutting down in cycles.

Turn off the following features in the CMOS settings of your computer.
See the hardware documentation or manufacturer for instructions.

•All caching, including L2, BIOS, internal/external, and write-back caching on disk controllers
•All shadowing
•Plug and Play
•Any BIOS-based virus protection feature
