DOS in Vista?

Hi Folks,

Does anybody know if Vista will run old DOS programs, the way
XP does? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

A friend tried Foxpro 2.6 for DOS in Vista and it worked so you should be
able to run DOS programs.

Vista 32-bit will still run (most) 16-bit DOS programs, but as I
understand it you can't run DOS programs full-screen so that may prevent
some from running properly (like those DOS games that need to run
full-screen to do graphic modes).

Vista 64-bit does not support 16-bit programs at all, so if you need
them I'd stay away from the 64-bit Vista.

I had DOS fullscreen programs run just nicely - until about 2 days ago? I
wonder if some hotfix removed this, but I develop some programs that require
DOS fullscreen and it has been working since december or when I first
installed Vista.

Now I tried to uninstall the latest video driver, and use the Vista default
one - the DOS window does go fullscreen now, but it's blank .. so something
definitely changed in the last week or so.

What's with that?
