works suite 2006.......excel

Hello, I'm curious as to what I need to do about the following. I have works
suite 2006 (standard) factory installed on my Dell laptop. I want to install
microsoft excel program, however, what do I do as I don't want to buy an
Office suite? What are my options? Thanks for your help.

Buy Excel as a stand-alone package.
Around $110

Unfortunately, the standalone product is about the same price as the Home
and student Office Suite.
