Vista Running Slow

Hi,
I just installed Vista Enterprise and I am experiencing problems. The system
is running extremely slow. My hardware is suitable for running Vista, however
compatibility could be an issue. I tried running in safe mode but it still
runs slow. I was previously running XP Pro and I never faced any problems.
Please help.
