Crashes during Installation

Got to 56% Completing Installation for Home Premium. Pop-up "initializing
installation" for Roxio Media Creator , then a restart, but when Vista loads
up to continue installing, crashes everytime. Blue screen says to uninstall
or remove any new hardware or software.
Booting from Disk goes to Startup Repair, but has been scanning for problems
to fix for the last hour.

What should I do???

unplug your cd/dvd burner. THis is the only way, prob is, u cant put it back
in to use externally or internally. I dont know what it is, but some upgrades
refuse to install with a dvd burner. The only way around this is to do a
fresh install. I had the same problem, afte ri did a fresh install, i bought
a new LG16x burner and everythign worked fine
