Upgrade Scenario Question.
I think this would work, but I want a second opinion. I currently have
Windows XP professional installed on a SATA-150 drive. I want to install
Windows Vista on a new SATA-300 drive. Could I upgrade to Vista by first
cloning my current XP pro installation onto the new SATA-300 drive and then
perform the upgrade-in-place (or preferably a clean install, as I would have
a "back-up" on my old system drive")? This way I could retain my current XP
Pro SATA-150 install for furture use as some of the programs on it (re:
Games) don't work so hot on Vista. Would this make sense? Is there an
easier/better way to do this that wouldn't involving having to spend $400 for
a Full Product Licence (and not an OEM licence).
