Visual Studio Team System & Vista
I cant seem to install Team System on Vista. It says its not compatible? Is
it really. I would find it really hard to digest that its not compatible.
Both are MS products? and both released in the span of last and this year?

Any help much appreciated

Re: Visual Studio Team System & Vista
So do you get a message that states the incompatibility but allows you to
install anyway? I installed and have been running VS 2005 Pro on Vista with
good results so far. I have not tried to install Team System on Vista, but I
have no doubt there could be compatibility issues. There is a SP1 update
for Vista that is currently in Beta form, see link at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...c-5863284503cf.

You can still develop for Vista on an XP machine, and that is what I would
suggest doing until full support is available on Vista. For testing your
bits, you can use Virtual PC 2007 (currently beta) to load up an instance of
Vista. There are of course limitations with the VPC approach - especially
with hardware and graphics.

Re: Visual Studio Team System & Vista
It Gives a big error.

The sequence as I have it now
1. Installed latest version VS 2005 - It states incompatibility- but this
time installs till the end
2. When Launced it states incompatible but still runs when i hit run program
3. exited VS 2005 and tried the hotfix as per your link below - BIG ERROR-
Cant launch the hotfix , The error,

"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service
because the program to be upgraded may be missing or the upgrade may update a
diffrent version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exist
on your computer and you have the correct patch"??????????????????????

I'm just going to use it as is since it installed . I just wish MS had some
guidance on it though? Some folks says it installs on some version of Vista
and not otthers?
