DVD knocked out

Can anyone help
My new Vista Ultimatex64 is *constantly* knocking out my DVD/Optical
drive ... I have been extremely careful to install Vista ready software
but this has become a persistent problem.
Whenever it happens I am having to do a System restore or a full
recovery to restore the DVD drive.
Could be a driver conflict ?
I *am desperate for assistance, please!*
I am running the OS on a brand new HP Pavilion, but have experienced
the identical problem on a Toshiba Satellite A200/Ho1 running Vista
Premium
Please help me
